On Tuesday, Helen Sjöholm appeared with BAO in “Allsång på Skansen”. But apart from that the singer has a relatively quiet summer to look forward to, with only a few gigs. Among other things Nösund Inn this weekend, with George “Jojje” Wadenius and Martin Östergren.

Helen Sjöholm is primarily doing gigs with Benny Andersson Band (BAB) this summer. But when she visits Nösund Inn at Orust for concerts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, she does it with two other skilled musicians, also instrument virtuosos; Jojje Wadenius and Martin Östergren. The trio has played together for nearly eleven years.
– Both are fantastic and have an incredible width. They are not so limited that they stick to one style, they can do just about anything. Jojje is magical. A real musician who’s always in the middle of the music, praises Helen Sjöholm.

A glorious mix
That the trio ended up at the inn was pretty obvious. Helen Sjöholm says that they know the staff and that Jojje Wadenius is long time friend of restaurateur Dan Lind.
– It’s a nice place. I feel very comfortable with Jojje and Martin, so it feels relaxed to play with them for three days.

The concerts will be a mix of songs. Some songs from the Helen Sjöholm’s latest album, in which she interprets Billy Joel, but also one of Jojje Wadenius children songs and some classics from Olle Adolphson.

On the silver screen
In the winter Helen Sjöholm is involved in the movie “Simon och ekarna” (Simon and the Oaks), directed by Lisa Ohlin. A context where perhaps you’re not entirely used to seeing the singer.
– I’ve been on stage a lot, playing theatre, but not so much in movies. But I can still see some similarities with the music – it’s about to find focus in what you do and deal with what occurs in the moment.

The filming, however, is finished quite a while ago and right now Helen Sjöholm take things slow for a bit.
– At the moment it doesn´t happen very much. But there will be a few gigs, it always feels nice in the summer.

Three of Helen’s holiday priorities:
– Go back to her childhood place Alnön
– Read a lot of good books
– Eat summer food
