Is in a villa in Finntorp Helen Sjöholm auditioned for a role in Simon and the Oakt was. She got one of the leads in the movie version of Marianne Fredriksson’s novel. Now it’s movie premiere.
– It’s amazing, finally premiere! It´s been more than a year since I did my last shot in the role of Karin, so I´ve waited a long time for this.
The movie is about a working-class family in Gothenburg during World War II. The nuclear family sustainability is tested in a time of both external and internal pressure. Helen Sjöholm plays Simon’s mother Karin, who is a person torn between many emotions.
You have won some awards over the years. Is it time for a “Guldbagge” now?
– No, I have no such expectations, she laughs.
– However, I hope that the movie will find its audience. It will be exciting to see how the movie is welcomed considering the sales success Marianne Fredriksson’s novel was.
Helen Sjöholm is not only a hot topic at the cinemas, she is also heavily pregnant and is expected to be the mother of twins any day now. She looks forward to parental leave and says that she will probably hang out quite a lot at “Dieselverkstan” in Sickla in the future.
