POP The Billy Joel songs that touched Helen Sjöholm’s heart is not just the obvious classics.
No “Just the way you are” among her swedification, but a pleasurable selection of songs, sensitively interpreted by Tomas Andersson Wij. It sounds more Helen Sjöholm than Billy Joel, even if she is faithful to his heavenly harmonies.
Interesting hand-picked rarities, but also convincing versions of evergreens like “Piano man” (“Barpianisten”) and “She’s Always a Woman” (“Kvinnan för dig”). And one of Billy Joel’s most lovely, “New York state of mind”, now a touching romantic paean to the city.
