Accurate, robust and confident. One evening in June at the river’s river the crowd was invited to Näsåker, to a night which most likely will be a part of the rest of the music summer. It was Saturday night and Helen Sjöholm with friends appeared on stage.

Helen Sjöholm does not come from Näsåker. However, her grandmother does. Her grandmother didn´t just come from Näsåker, but she also lived there all her life. Therefore, nobody is surprised to see that one or more steps on Helen Sjöholm’s road have been taken at this location: and perhaps even more specifically along Storgatan.

– On Storgatan, I and my dear cousin Maria Lundberg sang for the ladies who wanted, and sometimes didn´t want to listen, she explains.

(…) No less than Maria Lundberg, Jacke Sjödin and Klas Norberg together with Holmsten Trio played and sang together.

One of the great hits for Helen Sjöholm and Maria Lundberg, when they were children, was Ted Gärdestad’s “Jag vill ha en egen måne” (I want a moon on my own) and they now took the opportunity to sing that song when they finally entered the big stage at the party venue in Nämforsen.

– You should see what I see, Helen Sjöholm said, looking out over a sea of people.

– I used to come here like a child, but at that time it was empty in the audience, Helen Sjöholm said.

Even she and Jacke Sjödin sang together.
(…)

– But everyone has to get into the head that we never get on the podium, he sang, meaning that a prize might be a bit more fun if it comes unexpectedly.

Despite some clouds during the day, the sun was shining over the party venue in Nämforsen during Saturday night when friends met and spread music during an evening in June, by the riverside.
