Kristina from Duvemåla, Arja Saijonmaa and… Donald Trump! There were all sorts of exciting and unexpected ingredients when Helen Sjöholm and Anna Stadling visited Järvsö church over the weekend. A concert called Songs in the Christmas season and which of course also contained many traces of the holiday that is now approaching. Already an hour before the concert is due to start, there is a long queue in front of the church.
Two of these, the husband and wife Anders and Susanna Forslin, have just moved their home to Järvsö and have barely been residents of Järvsö for a month (…).
– I have my roots in Järvsö, explains the wife Susanna. Tonight there is a concert in Järvsö church where Helen Sjöholm and Anna Stadling will spread some Christmas cheer. The trio has high expectations for the evening and lists some songs that they would like to hear during the evening.
– There are fantastic girls singing so we hope for a wonderfully wonderful time with Christmas music, says Anders (…)
A little further back in the queue is Liv Hedberg who comes with her colleague Susanne Viken.
What do you expect from the evening?
– Beautiful singing and wonderful entertainment. I love Helen Sjöholm, says Liv Hedberg.
In hindsight, they were not disappointed. Anna Stadling and Helen Sjöholm delivered a whole battery of atmospheric songs that were accompanied by a wonderful lighting in the church. The artists therefore seemed to enjoy themselves as much as all the visitors.
– It’s fantastic, this is an incredible church, says Helen Sjöholm.
– And it’s so much fun to do this together, continues Anna Stadling.
Before it’s time for the encore, the artists also have time for their own special interpretation of the classic New Year’s Bell (Ring the Bell, Ring). A poem that includes a pass to the newly elected American president. That he should think about retirement and… to visit a hairdresser! If any hair salon in Järvsö gets an odd call from the White House in the next few days, it’s probably not a fake call…
