KFUM Kören (the YMCA Choir)—also known as the Sundsvall Male Choir—was founded in 1967 by Kjell Lönnå. Having previously sung in the YMCA Choir in Stockholm, Lönnå had developed a deep passion for male-choir singing.
It has been nearly 60 years, and on April 10, 2027, at 3:00 p.m, the anniversary will be celebrated at Tonhallen with another singer from Sundsvall who owes a great deal to Kjell Lönnå – Helen Sjöholm.
Together with pianist Martin Östergren, the audience is treated to a warm and memorable concert where choral sound meets one of Sweden’s most powerful voices.
