Always current Helen Sj\u00f6holm is doing one of six exclusive gigs in Askersund and the Sj\u00f6\u00e4ngen cultural center. A long-sold-out performance of the slightly more pared-down kind with only pianist Rikard Nilsson as company on stage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recently, she was a guest at the finale of STV’s long-running show P\u00e5 sp\u00e5ret (On the Track)<\/em> together with the constant partner Tommy K\u00f6rberg and Benny Andersson Band, where they sang two songs.<\/p>\n

\u2013 I would never dare to compete in On the Track<\/em> and if I were asked I would say no. But getting the chance to perform in the program is very fun and great, explains the popular singer.<\/p>\n

But the biggest thing of all this spring is to perform in Askersund on Sunday the second of April.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Of course it is, it’s always the best and most fun to meet the audience, especially when it’s such an intimate concert. We\u00b4ve a set list of songs and a program to stick to, but it isn\u00b4t written in stone but can be changed a little depending on how I feel, explains Helen, who celebrates 31 years as an artist this year.<\/p>\n

\u2013 It was really lucky that it wasn’t 35 years ago that I got it first, she laughs and begins to tell about her long service in the world of music and theater, which began professionally back in 1992 (…)<\/p>\n

\u2013 I actually don’t know what I would do if my career was over. I can’t do anything, laughs Helen, who has passed 50 years with a bang.<\/p>\n

Now she is not at risk of becoming unemployed as it became public in the past few days that Helen has one of the roles in the musical based on the beloved Swedish film epic \u00c4nglag\u00e5rd (House of Angels) by Colin Nutley. In the new interpretation, which premieres at the Oscar Theater in Stockholm on September 10, Helen Sj\u00f6holm plays the tradition-bound farmer’s wife Rut.<\/p>\n

But first she stops in Askersund.<\/p>\n
