CONCERT

I love musicals – all stars
Ullevi, Göteborg
Audience: 26 742
Who: Peter Jöback, Tommy Körberg, Helen Sjöholm, Tam Mutu, Scarlett Strallen, Ma-Anne Dionisio, Emmi Christensson, dancers, Stockholm Sinfonietta (40 people).
Conductor: Julian Bigg.
What: “The World’s Greatest Musical Concert” – According to Jöback, who is the man behind the project. A whole night with melodies from great musicals with Sweden’s three greatest musical stars. Jöback has played against Sjöholm in “Kristina från Duvemåla”, Körberg has played against Sjöholm in “Chess”, but Jöback and Körberg have never met on stage before. Here all three meet.

The scene is filled with a huge flow of numbers from well-known and lesser-known American and British musicals, as well as some Swedish.
Ballads, duets, show numbers with dancers, mixed and mixed again.

Helen Sjöholm is the greatest star of the evening with her beautiful voice, her dramatic nerve and her immediate humor.
When she does the touching Du måste finnas from Kristina from Duvemåla, the whole of Ullevi raises in a standing ovation.
She is a cheeky Sally Bowles in Cabaret and in a sparkling white dress she brings life to Don’t cry for me Argentina from Evita. And then a dimmed down and beautiful Bortom sol och måne from the small Swedish musical Hjälp sökes.

Tommy Körberg runs on power and experience. He skillfully takes care of any song, but of course shines the most in Anthem where he gets his standing ovation. In the second act he appears sparingly, but delivers a thrilling, jazzy version of My Favorite Things from Sound of Music.

Peter Jöback is the host of the evening, presenting musicals and artists in an easy and pleasant way and, of course, meets the expectations of the audience with The Phantom of the Opera. He also sings songs from the long line of musicals he has played in.

Helen Sjöholm was the best.
